Lima is too too too big. Getting, say, from the Southeast corner to the Northwest corner of the city on a bus could take 3 hours easily. Can you imagine? It’s almost like going from Durham, NC to Richmond, VA on the Megabus! Obviously, traffic jams are one of the worse problems in Lima (being delinquency the worst by far). Too many cars, too many roads, streets and avenues closed due to construction, insane detours, narrow avenues: too many factors aggravating Lima’s inherent chaos.
Today, after a medical appointment with my dentist, I got on a bus to come home; however, when I saw the endless line of cars stuck on one of the city’s “free corridors”, I decided to get off and take a photo. Have you seen something like this before?
(Oh, Lima, in spite of your outrageous traffic jams, I love you with all my heart…)
