One thing that I always find fascinating about Lima is its amount of ocean overlooks. People can take amazing photos of the Pacific Ocean in every district facing it -San Miguel (where I grew up), Magdalena, San Isidro, Miraflores, Barranco, and Chorrillos-. And well, you all know how much the ocean enchants me. So today I decided to take a break from some errands I had to run and take some pictures at one of these overlooks. I wanted to capture part of the cliff in the foreground and the rest of the coast in the background… But…

Yes! You can actually see the foreground, that house at the very top of the cliff. However, the background is covered by the typical winter fog, although it can be denser sometimes (at least you can see some of the skyscrapers, the beach, and the sea. What you can’t see is the hummock that should be on the right side of the frame. I took this picture with my iPhone from the same overlook at the beginning of the summer and you can see how different the coast looks when the day is clear:

Like I posted before, winter and summer change how a place looks dramatically. That’s why I’ll definitely take more photos of Lima’s bay these days and compare them with pictures I took in the summer. It should be a fun experiment!…
