Discovering Alfred Stieglitz’s photography this semester has been one of the most inspirational moments in the last months. Not only did I post a homage to him once, but rather I did it twice; and I even posted a picture inspired in one of his photographs. Needless to say, most of my photographs of clouds -like the recent “Cirrus”– have been inspired by Stieglitz’s Equivalents.
As a consequence, buying a complete collection of the pictures published in Camera Work -the magazine Stieglitz directed between 1903 and 1917 and in which members of Photo Secession (such as Paul Strand, Eduard Steichen, Alvin L. Coburn, and Gertrude Käsebier) published both photographs and texts- here in Lima personally and definitely represents one of the most amazing self Christmas gifts ever!
Are you getting any self Christmas gift this year, dear readers and followers?…
