I started working at The Duke Chronicle -“The Independent Daily at Duke University”- last week. My first assignment was to photograph a dog for a text about the potential benefits of the presence of a dog during a risky surgery a seven-year old had recently at Duke Hospital. It had to be any dog, so I asked one of my neighbors if I could take some photos of Wilco, his Weimaraner, and he agreed.
As you can see, The Chronicle posted a desaturated version of this photo:
But this was not the only photo of Wilco I took. On the contrary, I portrayed her from different angles, and even took some photos of Matt and his dog:
Wilco is a naughty dog that is always jumping around and willing to play. So for all of us it was quite amazing that she kept still over the course of the entire shooting.
Now I have my second assignment for The Chronicle! Today the Women Tennis team is playing vs. Columbia so I have to cover the game. I’m quite excited about it and will let you know how that goes!…
