Snow again in North Carolina. Storm Leon is on its way from Texas to the Atlantic Ocean leaving snow tracks all over the South. It has been slightly snowing here in Durham for hours; although it will stop soon, the few inches of accumulated snow have provoked the cancelation of all the classes before 10 am. at Duke (which means I can sleep a bit more since I teach Mon-Wed-Fri at 8:45 am.)
This evening, while I was taking some pictures of Duke Chapel, I felt like experimenting with the flash, f-stops, and shutter speed of my camera (the ISO was always 6400 though.) The following photo is one of my favorites -the shutter speed was 1/20; the f. stop was 3.5, and I used the flash to make the snow pop up in the foreground.
When things go back to normality in the morning, I’ll take more photos and will share some of them on the next post!…
Big snow pops!
