All classes were cancelled yesterday because of snow so I went for a walk at Duke to document this unfrequent white scenario. I took some pictures of the chapel, the campus covered by snow, and the gardens with both my digital and my analog camera. One of the photos that I particularly loved is this one: a guy wearing a red jacket is facing the red bridge at Sarah Duke Gardens; some read leaves emerging from the branches on the left complete a red triangle. Also, the border of the pond leads the viewer from the lower left corner of the frame to the guy facing the bridge and continues towards the bridge itself. Finally, I love the complement between red and white in the photo.
This picture and the one I took of the chapel were shared on Shutter, The Chronicle’s blog. Click here if you want to see them accompanying what my colleagues photographed during this beautiful and gelid snow day!…
Beautifully composed photo. What serendipity that you should find someone there with a red coat to complement everything!
