Last year, I started this blog precisely on June 2nd. Like I said back in the day, “Since sharing thoughts with others boosts one’s personal development, I have created this blog which will be mainly concerned about photography.”
Three hundred sixty-five days and two hundred ninety-three posts later, I can only thank you dear friends, followers, and visitors for your likes, comments, and views! Over the course of this year, I have learned a lot by both sharing my work with you and receiving your feedback in diverse ways. Hope it was a win-win for you as it has been for me!
To celebrate this first anniversary, I decided to
1) post the photo receiving the greatest amount of Likes, a close-up of M, my friend Teresa’s sweet and wild guinea pig:
2) post a Top 10 of photos you guys liked:
1. “Gorgeous Clouds of the Sun-set”
2. Dusk in Urubamba
3. Leaves, Sky, Trees, Pond
4. Morning Fog
5. Rainbow
6. Girl and Three
7. Drops
8. Drop
9. Fishing
10. Moonrise, Urubamba
3) post other photos that didn’t make it to this Top 10 but that I personally feel a special connection with:
Besides posting individual photos, this blog offered me a bunch of opportunities and possibilities. For instance, I posted photo galleries from time to time. Some of these galleries allowed me to dust great memories off such as Rescuing Great Memories 1: Rome, 2006; others allowed me to display photos I took in recent trips, such as Sao Paulo: The Photo Gallery; and Viennese Ball allowed me to explore other photography styles, such as events photography.
Moreover, I was able to boost my writing skills by telling some stories related to friends and personal projects such as Bolex, Rehearsal Dinner, and Safe Travels, Teresa. In that sense, this post narrating the origins of the Joe&Nancy Mysteries Series (a short-film project with my friends Teresa and Germain) deserves a special mention.
Finally, last but not least, between February and April I carried out a documentary project with Hillsborough BBQ Company, a restaurant in Hillsborough, NC: “Behind Every Great Meal…” Over the course of those 3 months I visited this friendly place almost every weekend and developed a special connection with Alex, John, Whitney, Herman, Ticha, and Ron, the people behind the exquisite food, drinks, and desserts the restaurant offers. You can watch the final version of the project here:
Thank you a lot again! A blog has no life if it has no followers, visitors, and viewers; in other words, my 293 posts wouldn’t exist if it weren’t because of you, friends!…
