Unfortunately, I had to reschedule my meeting with Coach Church today. We’ll meet on Wednesday before practice, so I’ll be able to interview him for some minutes and then take pictures of his players training before Saturday’s game vs. Louisville.
Yesterday, I mentioned a second project I’m working on nowadays. It’s very similar to my documentary photoessay about Hillsborough BBQ Company. This second project for this semester is about Heavenly Buffaloes, a chicken wing shack that opened a few weeks ago in Durham.
This photoessay will be divided into three parts: the first one will both explain the origins of this new business and reconstruct the opening day; the second part will explain the process of making chicken wings (they also offer vegan wings;) and the third part will explore some of the current concerns of the owners.
Thankfully, I have access to lots of information about Heavenly Buffaloes because one of the owners and his wife are my friends: Mark and Iara. Before starting the project, I had eaten their boneless wings with Chipotle BBQ sauce and blue cheese plus a basket of sweet potato fries twice. I have to say that “heavenly” is not an overstatement! When I told them about the idea for this project, they both got quite excited and so far have been providing me with great pieces of information during my visits to the shack.
I’ll keep you posted about how both projects unfold in the next days, dear followers and readers! In the meantime, I should get ready to enjoy some hot spicy boneless wings! Nom nom nom!…
