Uncanny Toast…

My summer subletters have a cat named Toast. This one-year old feline is very playful and follows me everywhere in the afternoons at home. Today as I was playing with Toast, I wanted to take a picture of her yawning. The scarce light in my bedroom was not helping so I had to use a … Continue reading Uncanny Toast…

Clovis…

Today I had to run several errands, like visiting the doctor -I recently got a mild gastritis detected- and going to the bank. That’s why I only watched parts of today’s three games. First, Netherlands had to sweat blood to defeat Australia. Just after the socceroos missed the chance to break the tie, their goalkeeper received a … Continue reading Clovis…

Clovis and her Farmer’s Cheese…

I guess I had forgotten how big my cat is. This year, she seemed bigger than ever to me but I’m sure it may be just a tricky visual effect provoked by comparing her with the baby piggies. In broad terms, either H or M must be as long as Clovis’s tail; also, I haven’t weighted her but she is probably at least five times as heavy as each of the rodents.

But they are similar in one detail: every time they are eating their favorite food, nothing -probably not even an earthquake- can distract them at all. H loves oranges and is capable of eating a slice of orange without breathing, and M looooves apple slices and kale. Clovis, on the other hand, feels immense joy when eating farmer’s cheese.

Today, my Mom gave her some crumbles of this cheese and she was having such great pleasure and joy that I felt compelled to take some photographs. Enjoy!

Lima: Day 1…

I arrived in Lima safe and sound today at 5:37 am (with “dinner” at 2 am included. Thanks, American Airlines!?) So, of course, after all the hugs and welcoming greetings, it was time for pictures!

First, a photo of my parents who went to the airport at 5:30 am. Here, a red light gave us enough time for a “smiiiile” pic.
